Jacob Budenz is a queer writer, multi-disciplinary performer, and witch with a BA from Johns Hopkins and an MFA from the University of New Orleans, whose work focuses on the intersection of the other and the otherworldly. The author of PASTEL WITCHERIES (Seven Kitchens Press 2018), Budenz has work in journals such as Slipstream, Hinchas de Poesía, Liminality, and more as well as anthologies by Mason Jar Press, Lycan Valley Press, and Mad Scientist Journals. In early 2020, Budenz's experimental production, SIMAETHA: a Dreambaby Cabaret about ritual, queerness, and divine femininity received a Baker Innovative Projects Grant for staging at the historic Carroll Mansion in downtown Baltimore.
